You have different policy and coverage options. Our professionals will guide you throughout this entire process and help you select the option that is right for you.
Components of Insurance
Liability Coverage includes property damage and bodily injury coverage. If you are at fault for an accident and another person is injured, then liability coverage will pay their medical expenses. It will also cover damage that you do to another person’s property.
We recommend that you get a minimum of 100/300 in liability coverage. This policy will pay $100,000 in damages for one person. Three hundred thousand will cover every person who was hurt in the accident.
The following will be covered by liability insurance.
- Medical expenses
- Funeral expenses
- Legal defense expenses
- Compensation for lost wages
- Emergency medical care at the accident scene
We also recommend that you have at least $100,000 in property damage coverage. It will pay for vehicle repair or replacement. It will also pay for damages than are done to stores, homes and other buildings.
Medical Payment Coverage
Medical payment coverage will pay for doctor and hospital expenses. It does not matter who caused the accident. Surgery, x-rays, funeral expenses and ambulance are examples of some of the expenses that are paid for medical payment coverage. You, your family members and passengers are covered by medical payment coverage.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Uninsured motorist coverage will pay for damages if you get into an accident with someone who did not have insurance. It is estimated that 16 percent of drivers in the state of Florida do not have car insurance. You should have 100/300 for uninsured motorist coverage.
Personal Injury Coverage
Personal injury coverage will pay for hospital and medical expenses. It will also compensate you for lost wages and funeral expenses. Florida requires that people have $10,000 in personal injury coverage.
Collision Insurance
If you damage your car, then collision insurance will pay for the damages. It is important to note that you will have to pay a deductible. If you have a higher deductible, then you will be able to pay a lower premium. However, you will have to pay more out-of-pocket if you have a higher deductible.
Comprehensive Coverage
Comprehensive coverage pays for damages that are not caused by collisions. Vandalism, hurricanes and tree falling on a car are examples of some of the things that are covered by comprehensive coverage.
